CLEAR CORRECT BRACES IN CORPUS CHRISTI
Clear Correct® gives you a discreet way to straighten your smile using removable aligners instead of metal brackets and wires. At Allen Dental Group, we can help you determine whether this treatment is a good fit for your teeth, bite, and goals.
STRAIGHTEN YOUR SMILE WITH CLEAR BRACES IN CORPUS CHRISTI
If you want straighter teeth but would rather skip metal braces, Clear Correct® is worth considering. The clear trays fit over your teeth, so they’re much less noticeable when you talk, smile, or go about your day.
You can also take them out for meals, brushing, and flossing. For many adults, that makes treatment easier to work into everyday life without changing too much of their routine.
Clear aligners aren’t a fit for everyone, though. Dr. Allen will look at your teeth, bite, and overall oral health to see whether Clear Correct® can give you the kind of results you’re hoping for.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR CLEAR BRACES?
Clear aligners can help with several common alignment issues. They may be a good option if your teeth are crowded, spaced too far apart, or slightly misaligned. Some bite problems can also be addressed with clear aligners.
Before moving forward, Dr. Allen will check your teeth and gums and see how your upper and lower teeth come together. If you have tooth decay, gum disease, or another oral health issue, that may need to be handled first.
There’s also one big thing to keep in mind: you have to wear the aligners consistently. Since they’re removable, it’s up to you to put them back in and follow the wear schedule Dr. Allen gives you.
For more complex orthodontic problems, clear aligners may not be enough on their own. Your exam will help determine whether Clear Correct® is the right fit or whether a different approach would make more sense.
CLEAR ALIGNERS VS. TRADITIONAL BRACES
Both options can straighten teeth, but they work in different ways. Traditional braces use fixed brackets and wires, while Clear Correct® moves the teeth with a series of custom aligners.
The bigger difference is how treatment is managed. Traditional braces stay in place and are adjusted over time. Clear aligners are switched out in stages as your teeth move, so following the wear schedule is especially important.
Clear aligners can also feel different in the mouth. There are no brackets or wires rubbing against your cheeks and lips, although you may still feel pressure when you switch to a new set of trays. Some patients also notice a slight change in their speech at first while they get used to wearing them.
In some cases, small tooth-colored attachments may be placed on certain teeth to help the aligners make more precise movements.
Traditional braces can sometimes involve broken brackets or poking wires that need attention. Clear aligners avoid those issues, but the trays can still be lost or damaged if they aren’t handled carefully.
Clear Correct® can be a good fit for many mild to moderate alignment issues. Traditional braces may be better suited for more complex tooth movement or bite problems.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CLEAR BRACES TREATMENT
Treatment starts with a close look at your teeth, bite, and smile. You’ll also have a chance to talk about what you’d like to change and what you want your smile to look like when treatment is finished.
Dr. Allen will use 3-D computer imaging to plan your treatment and create a series of aligners designed to guide your teeth through each stage of movement.
Clear Correct® works gradually. You’ll usually wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before moving on to the next set in the series.
You’ll also return to Allen Dental Group about every three weeks so your progress can be checked and any needed adjustments can be made. These visits are also a good time to bring up questions or concerns.
Treatment length can vary quite a bit. Some patients may finish in a few months, while others need much longer. In general, treatment can range from about four months to three years, depending on how much your teeth need to move and the complexity of your case.

HOW DO YOU CARE FOR CLEAR ALIGNERS?
Clear aligners are easy to care for once you get into a routine.
Take them out before eating and before drinking anything other than water. That helps keep food and drinks from getting trapped between the trays and your teeth.
Try to brush and floss before putting the aligners back in. Keeping your teeth clean helps prevent plaque and food from sitting under the trays for long periods.
You’ll also want to clean the aligners regularly using the instructions Allen Dental Group gives you. Skip very hot water, since heat can change the shape of the plastic.
And when the trays aren’t in your mouth, keep them in their case. It’s an easy way to avoid losing them, cracking them, or accidentally throwing them away.
Regular dental exams and cleanings still matter during treatment, too. Healthy teeth and gums make it easier to keep your progress on track.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CLEAR ALIGNER TREATMENT?
Once you finish your last set of aligners, the goal shifts from moving your teeth to keeping them where they are.
Teeth can slowly drift after orthodontic treatment, so retainers are often used to help hold your new alignment in place.
Dr. Allen will let you know what kind of retainer you need and how often to wear it. Keeping up with those instructions and your regular dental visits can help your results last.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CLEAR BRACES
Can Clear Correct® Be Combined With Other Dental Treatments?
Yes. In some cases, straightening your teeth may be one part of a larger dental treatment plan. If you also need crowns, veneers, implants, or other restorative work, Dr. Allen will consider the timing of those treatments when planning your clear aligner treatment.
Can Teens Use Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners may be an option for some teens, but candidacy depends on their teeth, bite, and ability to wear the aligners consistently. An evaluation can determine whether a removable aligner system makes sense for their needs.
How Much Do Clear Braces Cost?
The cost of clear aligner treatment varies based on how much your teeth need to move, how complex your case is, and how long treatment takes. Allen Dental Group can provide a clearer estimate after evaluating your smile and creating a treatment plan.
Does Dental Insurance Cover Clear Aligners?
Coverage varies by dental insurance plan. Some plans include orthodontic benefits that may help with the cost of clear aligners, while others do not. The best way to confirm your coverage is to talk to your insurance company. We can also help you review your insurance benefits and understand what may be covered before treatment begins.
